How do you get the cool titles next to your name?

Thanks for the info…testing it out now

I think in this case, it’s actually a badge title. This is currently integrated with the forum via a somewhat kludgy hack.

  1. First, you’ll need to have some badges — log into https://badges.fedoraproject.org/.
  2. Then, post to Magical Experimental Fedora Badges Topic!.
  3. In a few minutes, you should get notifications that you have new badges. You can see Francois’ badges on display at Profile - darknao - Fedora Discussion, and your own at https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/my/badges.
  4. From there, click on a specific badge.
  5. On that page, you should see “You can use this badge as a title”, with a little pencil icon.
  6. Click the pencil icon and pick the badge you want.

Thank you for the correct.

I used “…” as a test in Custom Status, and find that a bubble with 3 dots appeared immediately - confirm my reply above is wrong after further test with other strings.

I made this, and do have just some really strange badges now (as I lost all my old batches I collected while participating on ask.fedora the last two years while lock-down)

I do work as an independent in IT and do show my Love to Open Source Projects while commenting and helping in Projects I like this here (especially in the ask section). The badges from Discourse are not perfect and nice and colorful as the fedora project once but they did the job to use them in a kind of “reference” what I made.

I hope persons who made the decisions to “exclude” the lock-down effort of ‘ask.fedorians’ while making the merge. Try to see it also from their perspective now.

This swapping point of view maybe also helps with the discussions where have been made about how to measure the effort ppl do for the Project (sponsored or not).

Aniway as long as it is, as it is, I am a Egg
