Hello, I have Fedora 43 Linux installed as my primary system. I want to install Windows 10 as a second system on the same disk as fedora, please help me how can this be done (if possible, with steps and actions if it is not difficult for you)?
I searched the Internet, basically the task is to install linux
I have 1 ssd
I would be grateful for instructions, links to guides, or any tips on how to do this correctly.
There are a lot of steps involved in recovering fedora when installing windows second on a single drive. It is not for the inexperienced nor faint of heart.
The tried and true, and almost flawless method is to install windows first then from within the windows disk manager shrink the windows file system to allow space for the fedora install.
When installing fedora second it will automatically share the efi partition that windows creates and (for me at least) does so flawlessly.
If there is something that you really need to keep from fedora make a full backup of that data so it can be restored after a new installation of fedora.
There are some topics here about successful recovery when installing fedora first and windows second but the process is not simple.
A quick search here for install windows second gives many (50+) results. Be carefull which you choose to follow. Some are using 2 drives and yours seems to only be on a single drive. The solutions are different.
