The current fingerprint reader on Windows is verified by pressing my fingerprint on it. But on fedora, pressing the fingerprint to verify always fails. Conversely, sliding my fingerprint will succeed, but the success rate is very, very low.
Since it can be verified by pressing my fingerprint on windows, it should mean that my fingerprint reader supports press verification, so why can I only slide my fingerprint to verify on fedora? Why is the verification success rate very, very low? Can I switch to press verification for my fingerprint reader?
Likely due to patent encumbered drivers for the hardware.

I bought a new fingerprint reader, and it works very well.
Its device ID is 06cb:00df.
