I am sorry @theprogram , but you used your privileges to intentionally bypass a rule that is there intentionally. No discussion, no involvement of others, you decided on your own the rule is not worth to be exercised. Please revert your action asap.
If you reject or again decide without consulting others to exploit your privileges to temporarily add others to any group with the sole purpose to enable them to contribute to FESCo or other elections, I will report it ā this is not intended but a type of abuse of privileges. If you disagree with rules, bring them to discussion or to attention of the Council or whatever committee is responsible, but donāt make these decisions on your own.
We talked more than once about this now. I even made a pull request once which should have substituted the CLA abbreviation with FPCA. I can imagine that the logic behind this is still wrong while still searching for CLA +1, it should look for FPCA +1 and this could cause the error, also for you who is a member or three groups. In your case it is FPCA +3 which should not get an error. If we just changed the label from CLA to FPCA and the logic is checking for field name then it will never work.
Just my thoughts ā¦as I already once did put my head into it.
In my particular case, the problem was that the groups I am currently a member of were missing from the fedora-contributor meta group where they should be. Thanks to the infra folks, this was resolved almost instantly.
Hi @py0xc3 , thank you for your answer. Seeing this long thread and reading what has happened in ti I really think TL2 is better suited for me. So please, do me a favor and lower my status from TL3 to TL2 and make it impossible (at least for the time being) that I get promoted again because of the normal rules which are in place. You would do me a huge favor with this.
Maybe something good will come out of this thread, like better communication, but I wish I never started it. I do apologize to @theprogram who, maybe in his enthusiasm, made me a temporary member of a group just so I could join the votes. I really hope and wish this has no bad consequences for you. To all others here, donāt be harsh on @theprogram , it is, as I see it, better to be harsh on me for not stopping @theprogram when he came up with the idea. Again a reason why I wish I did not start this thread.

1st, there will be no punishment for anything that happened here, there are just things that should not re-occur. So donāt worry about that.
2nd, you brought to our attention that there is still an communications issue that we should take more seriously in future about the FESCo poll. While I am not sure if anyone finds the time soon to tackle the issue, it is useful to be made aware of it occasionally to avoid it gets forgotten. So there is value in this topic even for others.
