Hello people, i am using fedora desktop 42, on my hp 250 g8 and while using only some apps (chrome, vs code, mongodb compass, youtube) the cpu reaches 90 to 100%, and annoying fan starts. i know that my cpu is capable of handling these apps, as i was using widows before are arch too, how can i optimize fedora to work with this laptop please do suggest me some solutions.
At a time when you have high CPU usage, can you open the System Monitor app and look at which applications and processes are consuming the most resource?
okay, well every other apps sometimes starts to use 50-60% usage is it normal? cuz sometimes my youtube video lags a bit and also the audio cracks. also the battery drains a bit faster. these issues were not there in windows
As you can see, this looks entirely normal - 5% CPU utilisation, a little GPU and some memory with a little bit of swap.
It’ll be of far more use to look at this output (or top/htop/btop) when you get these applications using 50 and 60% of the cpu.
