Help with artifacts during startup and login screen

Hello!

I need help with an issue i have had for a few weeks now. I have been experiencing artifacts during startup and login screen on my primary monitor. The artifacts do not appear on the desktop unless i lower the refresh rate to below 165Hz, or turn off “scale-monitor-framebuffer” in the dconf editor. I’ve tried to look into it myself but i struggle to find anything similar and was hoping you guys have any ideas. Any and all suggestions are appreciated! Attaching some screenshotsof said artifacts and system info below.

Do you get the same artifacts if you disable the iGPU and force use of the dGPU constantly. And the opposite way around?

I presume you’re using the amdgpu drivers and not the radeon drivers from the relatively recently hardware, but it never hurts to check.

Same issue on previous kernels?

I tried to disable the IGPU, and use the Igpu for the main monitor. None solved the issue. I even tried switching the cables just in case. I am running the amdgpu drivers.

As for the kernel version. Tried rolling back to another patch version but didnt help. I know back when i ran kernel version 6.16 and 6.17 i didnt have this issue.

You should put in a bug report if a kernel upgrade is the fault.

It’s hard to pinpoint the issue on a kernel version right now. But i certainly will do so if that ends up being what caused the issue :+1:
