I think that Podman 101 could be very interesting.

#3

sounds great, do you know who can give this talk? (Updated in the list, many thanks)

I would be interested to see a classroom on Podman. I wonder if @dwalsh would know of someone willing to run a one-hour virtual classroom on Podman for 50-100 people? Or how many people tune into the classroom sessions these days?

I suspect if we put together a high-level set of objectives or outline and then asked Dan if he could recommend someone we can get an instructor. I can also take this set of objectives to some teams at RH.

#6

Sure I would be willing to do this, but would need instruction on exactly you would like to have taught, and how the classrooms run these days.

Do you want to just have an intro to each section and then have an assignment for users to try out commands?

#7

Hi @dwalsh ,
this topics are only ideas for individual classrooms, you can give the classroom of your preference,

If you want to give a classroom we only need the hour/date, the Agenda of the classroom and a short self introduction for the fedora magazine blog.

The modalities will be:

  • IRC
  • BlueJeans/Jitsi

as you wish

#8

@dwalsh are you the famous Selinux guy?

do you want to do a Classroom about that?

#9

Yes I am that Dan Walsh, but I mainly work on containers now. I can get the current SELinux guys to do a talk.
@lvrabec is this something you would be interested in?

BTW, I could do one on Podman and/or buildah, if that would be of interest.

Random question: what would the chances be for a classroom on systemd? I know it wasn’t really on the original list, but this is something I frequently see misunderstood, and IMO knowledge of debugging and using it is really helpful in a wide variety of scenarios.

#11

for the F29 cycle we planning the next classrooms:

I will promote a systemd classroom for the next cycle

#12

It would be awesome to see a Classroom for Buildah + Podman. It would be helpful as a linkable reference in other places I’ve started to talk about these tools.

#13

How exactly are these classrooms done.

Do you just sit in IRC doing them? IE Would I just tell people what
they have to have as prereqs and then cut and paste commands for them to
run and explain what is going on?

#14

Hi @dwalsh,

The classroom can be run over IRC or jitsi/bluejeans,
by example the modularity classroom was done over bluejeans.
You can select the best place to give your classroom

I’ve created a ticket for us here: https://pagure.io/fedora-join/Fedora-Join/issue/115

As I’ve said in the description, we need to decide if this is for end-users, or for developers, for they will be require different kind of sessions.
