So, for some reason /usr/bin/* is copied to .local/bin, but when removing .local/bin, i can’t run any commands and “sed command not found, would you like to install sed” repeats every time a command or key bind is executed

Nothing in Fedora will have done this.
I will have something you have done.

Have you been building software yourself?

Seems the easy clean up is to rm the files in .local/bin.

The symptoms you describe can occur in many ways other than copying files.

Please use a terminal to show us ls -ld /usr/bin $HOME/.local/bin, echo $PATH, ls -lZ /usr/bin |head and ls -lZ $HOME/.local/bin |head (as pre-formatted text) so we can understand the current state.

You should look at the human-written book from https://LinuxCommand.org to become familar with command-line tools. These are the most effective tools to communicate issues with the broader Linux community and can be used in situations where the GUI is broken. You will be better off starting with Fedora 44 so you are less likely to encounter broken software.

I know how to use the linux command line, but i never could use native linux because of the restrictions put on me resulting in less experience in troubleshooting using dmesg, journalctl, and other similar commands.

When moving all files in .local/bin to a backup directory /usr/local/bak, i get this error:

What im saying is .local/bin is interfering with the /usr/bin, and i have to manually execute any command with the full path

I moved all files in .local/bin to: /usr/local/bak, and reinstalled coreutils like this:

sudo dnf reinstall -y coreutils --allowerasing

And it seemed to fix the issue with “sed command not found even though it existed in /usr/bin”

You can use the /usr/bin/which command to find out where a command will be run from.
/usr/bin/which sed would have told you which sed would be used.

AstroNvim couldn’t use stdbool.h and the issue i had with .local/bin was the problem, and by reinstalling coreutils fixed my issue.
