After having upgraded my laptop (Thinkpad lenovo, see attached screen of system settings) to Fedora Core 44 my headphones are not working: when I insert the jack into the plug I hear nothing, and when I take it off I have to manually reset the volume of the output loudspeakers manually via alsamixer. I attach also the screen of the latter).

this is an issue with pipewire 1.6.4 and is fixed in the upcoming 1.6.5

Thank you for information. I have applied the temporary workaround, I suppose I have to reboot the system to have the .conf file being reread…
restarting pipewire should be enough or log out
try systemctl --user restart pipewire{,-pulse}.socket
