Do you get password rejected from the GDM login screen? If so, do you get any message? If you boot with the enforcing=0 boot flag[1], do you manage to log in?
If you’ve changed the password from a minimum bash environment, you’d need the restore SELinux permissions, by booting with the autorelabel=1 boot flag. See this docs page for details.
Perhaps “rejected” is the wrong word. At a guess, I would say that the
password entry causes the GDM login process to crash, and then its
restarted. There is no message.
As to changing root password, I am (sadly) quite familiar with the
process!
If you suspect that GDM or Gnome is crashing, you can verify that by switching to a virtual console with Ctrl+Alt+F3 and logging in there. If that works, we can investigate the graphical login.
Firstly can you explain you install workstation and login with no problems using GDM .after that you install xfce I ask because GDM use gnome and xfce iso will install diffrent DM It’s lightdm .you need to clarify what you use GDM or lightdm
Here’s some of what I have today. My guess would be that it results
