On Fedora 44 KDE Plasma, kernel 7.1.6-201.fc44 , GPU is a Radeon 9070 XT. After updating last night, I have been having some weird graphical artifacts in the form of colorful bands that occasionally flash across the screen. It’s not a hardware issue, as the artifacts go away if I boot into 7.1.5. Th…

I am also seeing no more issues on 7.1.8, I appreciate all who contributed!

There’s a known issue affecting some AMD cards introduced in 7.1.6. 7.1.5 is not affected. A fix is expected in 7.1.8. Please don’t offer advice if you don’t understand the scenario and the issue - it only serves to sow confusion. There’s nothing wrong with any of the posters GPU’s and as for “wa…

For what it’s worth, I didn’t notice the issue until after a recent update to 7.1.7. I reverted to 7.1.6 to test and still saw the issue though on my AI PRO R9700. I have a 4k primary and 1080P secondary monitor directly connected to the GPU. Another odd comment: I started playing DOOM 2016 for this…

I am now on 7.1.8 and am yet to see any of the glitches in question. May be resolved but await more confirmation to be sure.

Also did the 7.1.8 update on fedora 43 kde plasma, it did fix the artifacts issue however the small issue with the brightness at 99 or 100% being as dark as 0% remains.

F44 KDE Plasma. AMD Radeon 890M. 7.1.8 seems to fix artifacts for me.

[image] Tonton: issue with the brightness at 99 or 100% being as dark as 0% remains. FWIW That is discussed upstream at Making sure you're not a bot! and Making sure you're not a bot!

Interesting I run the same GPU (iGPU) and had the issues after the Kernel update to 7.1.7. But a shut down and boot up fixed them completely. I am still running 7.1.7 using the 890M without any issue, F44 KDE Plasma.

The new 7.1.8 Kernel seems to have done the trick.

7.1.8 fixed the issue for me. Thanks!

7.1.8 fixed the issue for me on both my 9070XT desktop and 680M laptop.
