Graphical glitches, slow performance and/or crashes using Firefox on recent AMD graphics adapters

Problem

Several people have reported problems using Firefox on Fedora 43 Beta on systems with recent AMD graphics adapters. The problems can manifest as Firefox crashing, performing very slowly, or apparent graphical glitches, like only some areas of the screen updating promptly when content changes, with other areas staying frozen on old content.

Cause

The details of the problem(s) here are still being determined. It seems most likely to be an issue in mesa and/or the kernel. Reports so far are mostly from systems with Strix Point / Krackan Point hardware - the most recent generation of AMD mobile adapters, which come in systems with Ryzen 9 AI and Ryzen 7 AI CPUs. At least one report is also from an earlier generation desktop GPU. Using desktop scaling and/or external displays may be involved in triggering the issue.
