Gnome-pomodoro update for Fedora 42 (requires v0.27 for GNOME 48)

Hi all,

I’m encountering an issue with gnome-pomodoro (https://github.com/gnome-pomodoro/gnome-pomodoro) after upgrading to Fedora 42. The application seems broken.

The cause appears to be that the version currently packaged in Fedora (v0.26) only supports GNOME 47, while Fedora 42 ships with GNOME 48.

Upstream released gnome-pomodoro v0.27, which adds support for GNOME 48, on February 22nd, 2025.

However, looking at the Fedora package information (https://packages.fedoraproject.org/pkgs/gnome-pomodoro/gnome-pomodoro/), v0.27 is not yet available for Fedora 42, nor is it present in Rawhide.

Could someone provide insight into why this package hasn’t been updated? Is there a known blocker or is maintainer action pending?

Thanks!

It’s probably because the package maintainer hasn’t found the time to do it. Weirdly enough, I have 0.26 here on F42 and it seems to work. Perhaps I’ve disabled the version check.

I’ve submitted a pull request to update to 0.27 now. We should have it merged and updates pushed in a week or so, once the maintainer has had a chance to look at it:
