Gnome Boxes "Download OS" Debian problem

I am using Fedora 38 (system specification at the bottom).
I have problems with Gnome Boxes Download OS option for Debian 12.

My problem can be reproduced the following way:

  • Open Gnome Boxes
  • Click rop right + button
  • Click “Download OS” button
  • Select “Debian12 x86_64 (netinst)”
  • Observe Download pop up that does not make progress (tested for >5 minutes)

I have tried to select “Debian 12 x86_64 (DVD)” which also does not work.

I observed that other distributions can successfully be downloaded.
This includes among others: Fedora, Ubuntu but also Debian Testing.

I am wondering what I am doing wrong with the Debian 12 install?
