Getting only security updates with Silverblue

I’ve been using Silverblue for a year now, and it works fairly well for my work from home usage, but lately, I was wondering if it would be possible to only fetch security updates.

I had far too many issues with Nvidia related kernel patches missing and in the past 2 months, Podman failing on older containers and Flatpak today. So yeah… I’m okay rolling back, but this time I would have to jump back to early May.

Is it just a matter of disabling all the ostree repos besides say Fedora 38 -x86_64 - Updates?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

This is currently not possible for Silverblue as the images are built in Fedora and you don’t choose on the client side which update you want.

Change build and release cadence · Issue #384 · fedora-silverblue/issue-tracker · GitHub could help with improving the QA coverage of Silverblue.

I’d recommend looking at https://universal-blue.org/ given that you have an NVIDIA card.

Thanks for the info. The proposed release plan, Change build and release cadence · Issue #384 · fedora-silverblue/issue-tracker · GitHub, would be great, really.

I am uncertain if I see benefit in using ublue images. It would still be a daily snapshot of f38 latest.
