The gesture with three fingers that changes workspace and shows app lists is not work after I updated.
And I can’t find this option anywhere(including Settings, Advanced Gmome Tool).
It is not important, but I’m used to that.
Do you happen to be in an X11 instance instead of Wayland?
No, I’m using Wayland
I think that Bryan was suggesting you try xorg and see if there is a difference. If there is a difference when you are logged in with xorg then it seems related to wayland. If there is not a difference then it may be purely gnome related.
Kinda… Since the three-finger swipe only works in Wayland, I was thinking @picopress either accidentally or purposefully was in X11 instead.
Can you provide some other details, like kernel and GNOME version?
Also, do other gestures work?
I checked that window system is X11. I don’t know why this was changed, but just switching to wayland is simple. Thanks for advicing.
+:
I changed Wayland, but there is somthing problems. When I logined, the wayland session cannot start then displays login interface again, although X11 works completely.
Could you walk us through what isn’t working with Wayland; that is, are you greeted with any errors or just a blank screen?
Providing some info about the system could also help troubleshooting…
Nothing was displayed(just black screen a moment), and returned to the lock screen again.
Is everything up to date; i.e., did you upgrade the system?
Yes.
However, Wayland can’t work in an other linux(based on debian) that installed on my laptop too.
I guess it is only a problem of wayland…
Could you provide details about your system, that way the community might be able to provide you insight regarding your particular system and/or point you to where bugs could be reported?
I ran hwinfo --short

I guess it isn’t the reason of permission or,
That last bit about
10월 10 13:22:26 fedora unknown[1174]: Failed to start X Wayland: Directory "/tmp/.X11-unix" is not writable
seems to suggest Wayland is not running and that would explain why the gestures don’t work. What I don’t know is whyyou wouldn’t be able to write to a /tmp
directory.
The next step to troubleshoot would be to create a new user and test that to see if the issue persists.
In Fedora 37, This problem has been fixed.
