Garmin Express Clean Install for Fedora 43

Does anyone know a clean / easy method to install software for the Garmin Express platform on Fed43? I know there is some info that works using Wine but it is usually with some “Hicups”. Has anyone found a clean, direct method, with EASY to follow Terminal commands for getting the Garmin Express to run onFed43 ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi MD,

I have been looking for years, literally, and the only clean/reliable way I have found is to hold my nose and create a Windows VM ( as much as I dislike this on my nice clean Fedora/Linux machine). I have 4 Garmins that use Garmin Express to update via USB and all work reliably doing it this way.

Yep, I use a Windows VM as well.

Hi Vlad!!
I haven’t seen this before… definately going to give it a try!!!
Thanks!!!

I tried running “Boxes” on Fedora43 with Windows 11. It came back, “Windows can not work on this PC.” So I tried it with Windows 10. That worked okay to install. Then i wanted to put ProtonVPN on the Windows OS. It did the install okay but would never open the VPN to activate. So after getting fed up with so much Time, I deleted everything. Since I presently have a “Dual Boot”, with Windows 10, I just put the Garmin on the Windows Disk.
