Fresh install of F44 does not free space for install

Hallo, I did install 44 beta. fresh install. more than 300 GB available. But message is: “install is not possible because only 6.1 GB available. “

I expect the installation to free some space for the new install. That was in earlier versions of Fedora possible. Than I got the question “can I free some space? “

Is this a bug in the new version, new install?

From the install run lsblk -f and check that it shows you have the free space you expect.

Which Fedora version do you want to install? How did you chose the way to install? Did you chose to use the whole disk (to replace the former install)?

Hallo, installing 44beta, The main problem is that the install proces did not as for permission to change the space. The proces did not present a solution to change the space. Just “no space for install”

thanks

Do you mean that you had 300 GB of unpartitioned space on your disk, or that you had 300 GB of free space within existing partitions?

Please post the output as suggested by @barryascott .

Do you install Fedora alongside another OS for a dual boot setup? FWIW, the installation ISO comes with a disk utility (GNOME Disks in case of Fedora Workstation), which can be run from outside of the installer, to make the needed changes on disk, before starting the installer.

It was a existing partition. In earlier upgrades I got the question if I wanted to change the partition. Now that option was not visible.

The install did not start, so no disk utility visible. The install only gave the error message about no space for install. No option to change partition by install process.

In order to be able to assist, please post the output as suggested above.

I meant the disk utility outside of the installer, available in the live session. In case of Fedora Workstation it’s GNOME Disks.
