FOSSASIA is one of Asia’s major open-source communities. Since 2009, it has been building open technologies - software and hardware - and organising events, meetups, hackathons, and mentorship programs around the world. The FOSSASIA Summit 2026 is the flagship annual open-source technology conference, bringing together a global community of developers, engineers, businesses, builders, educators and contributors. This time around, the conference covers a broad range of topics, welcoming talks, panels, workshops, and spotlight sessions from various fields - from AI, Web3, Cloud, Databases, Distributions, Security, Mobile, DevOps, etc.
If you contribute to the Fedora Project and want to participate in this conference, I am glad to note that we are looking forward to folks interested in representing us there. We encourage you to list your name in the FOSSASIA 2026 Fedora Project Wiki document. While the Fedora Project is quite limited for the event, we will try to sponsor those applying for it on a priority basis, i.e. the likelihood of getting sponsored is high if one actively contributes to the Fedora Project presence at FOSSASIA 2026. Add your proposals to the Budgeting section of the aforementioned document for the request to be taken into consideration by Fedora Mindshare.
Here’s to expanding the Fedora Project presence in the Asia Pacific Region during 2026!
Having been a part of this revamp and being located in the APAC region, I believe I can be of great help in spreading the word about all the positive changes the revamp has to offer.
I would love to join the FOSSASIA 2026 summit to help out as much as possible and meet fellow FOSS enthusiasts and contributors!
Hello there o/
I’m Yashwanth Rathakrishnan. I have been a Fedora Project contributor with the Fedora CommOps & Fedora Infra team, and I have been working on Fedora Forge & Forgejo for a year.
I would like to be a part of Fedora Project to represent us in FOSSASIA 2026 Summit, I want to help spread the Fedora Project word as much as possible, and I’m excited to meet & connect with FOSS folks, and other like minded people there. I hope to make the most of this opportunity, help out & contribute as much as possible
@sdglitched and @thisisyaash, I appreciate the enthusiasm, but unfortunately, I come bearing unpleasant news.
Since we had recently organised the APAC Fedora Project community presence at DevConf.IN 2026, with our Fedora Project Community Corner in the first quarter of 2026, we would want to ensure that we can have regular representation of the community throughout the year. As we are exploring what FOSSASIA has to offer this year, so that we can return with a greater presence with a Fedora Project community booth in the future (or in a different region, for that matter), we will unfortunately not be able to fund contributors to travel to the conference.
I’m here again, and will be representing the fedora and the community/releng items at FossAsia, I’m already in conversation with @t0xic0der about how to proceed forward with it.
