I was just wondering if anyone out there is using Forticlient 7.4 on Fedora 41?
I’ve just installed the latest release, and everything’s running smoothly, except for the tray icons.
It’s not showing any status, just a black square.
Do you think you could help me with this? I can’t see the box because my bar is black too.

Gnome Shell doesn’t have support for the System Tray by default. Try installing gnome-shell-extension-appindicator and see if that resolves the issue for you.

I have already installed gnome-shell-extension-appindicator. With the old 7.0 Forticlient version, I usually saw the icon, only sometimes it would disappear. The Forticlient icon is a legacy one.
Now, I only see the icon in the tray for less than a second before it turns into a black square.
I think they manage the icons to show the connection status, and this doesn’t work well.

To me, that sounds like the physical icon files are missing. I hate to say it, but have you filed a bug with Fortinet?
I mean, the app otherwise works, correct?
