Firefox is missing some translations on Fedora Silverblue

Some strings are not translated in Firefox on Silverblue. Welcome page, placeholder of search bar on the new tab, password manager are displayed in English. All this is correctly translated in Fedora Workstation and in fresh install of Silverblue 39. The problem appears after you update the OS. Silverblue 40 is also affected.

Welcome to Fedora @lonestar

I guess this depends on the version of Firefox … can you tell us the versions?

What is the language you are using? Russian?

Firefox 124.0.1. Yes, I’m using Russian language.

Looks complete on the translation page.
It might be that some files got lost while compile it for fedora.

Lets check on the fedora side then.

p.s.
Uuups … your locale is in English … you have to change to ru to get the translated version.

When I was installing Fedora, I picked Russian locale. I just checked environment variables: LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8

But on the top of your image it is set on English (en) is this the default … try to change to Russian as default.

It is not locale, it is keyboard layout.

I am on Workstation and tested Sway Atomic, and got an update to 125.0.2 of Firefox. You might check if the Update resolves the issue (in terminal rpm-ostree upgrade).

In the Address bar of Firefox type:
about:welcome you can open the welcome screen again.

If still in English create a new profile to see if it is still in english
about:profiles you can create a new profile and test it again.

Still in English

Have you updated to 125 ?

sorry … i saw it now

Yep. Updated and created a new profile.

You can try to change this option in Preferences/General/Language:

Choose your preferred language for displaying pages : Russian (first), another language

Added russian, translation and removed workstation
