Fingerprint Reader Not Working on Lenovo Thinkpad

In the Gnome Users settings, I see the message:
“Failed to claim fingerprint device ElanTech Fingerprint. Sensor: the device is already claimed by another process”.

The lsub command shows me that my device is supported according to the fprint website (lifprint — Supported Devices):

How do I fix this ?
(If it matters, I switched over from Windows 11 (no dual boot))
