I have 2 NFS mounted (from NAS) dirs on my home folder. When NAS is off no files in my home folder can be accessed through Files. I checked and Gnome terminal. Same behaviour ls command not working either…
Any solution?
When the NAS is off the drives will never be accessible.
Solution:
Power on the NAS before attempting to access those files and directories.
I echo this response unless the OP wants to go into more detail about the setup and if we are misinterpreting what the OP means by “off”
Sorry i was not clear enough. Local files/folders on my home directory are not accessible. NFS files obviously can not be reached…
Please provide more detail.
The first post seems to imply that you could not access the directories from the NAS.
Now you say it cannot access any files.
yes all files in my local pc are out of reach. I mount these nfs shares on boot with /etc/fstab file.
Is your home directory on the NAS?
If your user cannot access their home directory then nothing works properly.
No, my home is on local pc. Only 2 folders are on NAS
Can you post the output of cat /etc/fstab
and lsblk -f
?
Consider using GVFS:
Mount nfs share without root permission - #3 by vgaetera
