FF44 wont install

I’m running F43 but instead upgrading I thought I’d try a fresh install of KDE Plasma. Downloaded, burnt to USB via Fed Media Writer, rebooted, live desktop appeared, clicked icon to installed to hard drive, authentication popup flashed up and closed immediately. Tried few times.

Stuck the ISO on a Venroy drive, wouldn’t even load, so booted in live F43 (from Venroy drive) used FMW to dowload F44 and write to USB, same issue. So ask FF and it suggested to do a terminal install.

I did that and got F45 that I can’t login to, I wasn’t prompted for account setup or root passwd.

I’m not quite sure why it isnt working, but in these cases, I recommend using the ‘Everything Netinstaller’ and select your desktop of choice from the installer there.

That worked

I went back to to the full download to solve why it wouldn’t install.

The fix was to edit grub and add nomodeset

that enabled the installer to work without the crash.
