Fedora43, Plasma 6.6.0. Hard Drive encryption after install. Can it be done?

This is a general question, not a current problem.
I installed Fedora43 KDE using the Life Disk. Since then it has been fairly well customized to suit my needs and taste.

So the questions are:

  1. Can the HDD be encrypted “after” the OS has already been installed? Note that there are 2 HDD’s and Fedora resides on one while Win11Pro resides on the other. Fedora is on the Primary Drive.

  2. Has anybody done this and if so, did it go smooth?

  3. Did it create problems using the Home Network like: Printer, NAS Backup…?

Any info regarding the above questions is appreciated.

Short answer is yes. Recommended is no.

Long answer?

Run cryptsetup reencrypt and hope you don’t screw anything up.

Longer answer:
Reinstall with encryption enabled.

  • Backup your Fedora data.
  • Test the backup.
  • Boot the Fedora installer.
  • Choose disk encryption during the install.
  • Restore the (tested and confirmed to be dead-nuts) backup

I thought this might be the case. As such I wait for the day that a complete re-install is required.
