Fedora won't boot

Laptop:

Dell XPS 17 9710
2 TB kioxia M.2 nvme ssd

Fedora 43
Nvidia 580.95 driver

Setup:
Was getting issues getting the newer 6.17.x kernels to work with the Nvidia 575 driver..
Someone suggested I move to 580 the newest NVidia driver.

Installed 580 and then reinstalled the kernels and all was fine.

Issue:
Usually I would suspend the laptop over night.
Came in this morning, laptop froze after logging in and then screen turned black with scattered colors.

Reboot but it won’t detect the ssd drive.

Reboot again switch to Raid in the bios. Did boot but eventually froze, black screen and scattered colors.

Reboot, went back to AHCI and tried booting again. Then got a failure reading sector from hd0.

Reboot a last time, this time turned on secure boot, I do get the grub menu now but ot just hangs on each of the listed kernels.

Its a Dual boot and can’t boot into windows too.

Possible conclusions:
Harddrive failure

This laptop does not have a full 2 years yet.

Has anyone seen this before?

Smells very much like hardware failure to me, from this description.

You could always try opening the kit up and removing/reseating both the RAM and nvme drives, assuming you have one. If it still fails to boot and displays these symptoms, it’s RMA time.

See if you can boot from a live USB, to determine the HDD status.
