Fedora Mobile as phone OS?

Been in the IOS ecosystem for my hole life, but for a few years now I’ve been moving toward FOSS & repairable/ownable software and hardware. I’ve got Framework laptops, Fedora KDE on my PC, and am looking to get rid of my last closed machine: my phone. My current forerunner is a Fairphone, and I am looking at putting Fedora Mobile on it, so here are my questions:

1, Does anyone have experience with using Fedora Mobile for their Cellphone, and how does it work? Can it do all the things I need from a cellphone, like call/text people, ext?

2, Does Fedora Mobile have any support for Mobile applications, like Android apps or similar?

3, Is Fairphone my best shot, or is there another phone I should look at, that is repairable and open, like my Framework?

Thanks! <3

Edit: The current alternative to Fedora Mobile I am concidering is /e/OS

Edit 2: If this isn’t a thing, should it be? I have been looking for something FOSS to work on, and even though this is WAY over my skill level, could be neat to start working toward.

I were daily driving PinePhone about four or three years ago. You can call and text (you should also get Emergency Broadcasts) but I would not rely on it, at least yet, in case of emergency.

Take a look on Waydroid.

PinePhone’s are probably your best shot? But they probably lose performance vice.

Check out our wiki and feel free to join the Matrix, there is at least one guy who has been doing some work to get Fairphone 5 running.
