Something odd happened today: my second monitor (Q32G1WG4) just froze with the image it had on. The whole thing was still there, as I could travel with the mouse on it and some apps were shown as opened on that display, but could not reach them. Of course, it happened while I was presenting in a business teams meeting, but I was able to present my primary screen and continue the meeting. After that my primary screen froze as well, so I had to manually restart the desktop.
The tricky part is that there is no crash report, so can’t raise a ticket with fedora or KDE for this. I assume is KDE related, because it happened also in Solus as well (but not in standard Fedora KDE).

Did anyone else experienced this in the past?

Is there a bug raised already with either Fedora or KDE? Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening again?

Thanks!

Anything in journalctl for the time of the display freeze?

Yes, plenty. This is amazing, thanks!

This is just a part of the report:

I’ll make a bug report to KDE. But later as now I have to run.

Thanks for support!
G.

There is output from two different boots in there which confused me a little, but as you’ve probably seen:

May 27 11:02:01 fedora2 kwin_wayland[2258]: Pageflip timed out! This is a bug in the amdgpu kernel driver
May 27 11:02:01 fedora2 kwin_wayland[2258]: Please report this at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues
May 27 11:02:01 fedora2 kwin_wayland[2258]: With the output of 'sudo dmesg' and 'journalctl --user-unit plasma-kwin_wayland --boot 0'

Obviously that --boot 0' will probably need to be adjusted now; just make sure you get the boot which contains all the evidence¬
