Fedora KDE with kernel 7 freeze on login screen

Hi,

I recently got a new laptop from work. Installed Fedora 44 KDE spin on it.

The laptop is a ASUS ProArt P16 H7606WP OLED
Relevant specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 / AMD Radeon 890M
64 GB LPDDR5X SDRAM

The thing is that installing Fedora 44 at first with kernel 6.19 works fine but as soon as I upgrade to kernel 7.0, the screen freezes. I can still login, but nothing happens on screen. I can even ctrl+alt+T type sudo reboot and it reboots.

I initially decided to just stay on 6.19, but here it says “missing NVIDA modules, reverting to Noveau” or something along these lines. I have followed this guide to setup Fedora: GitHub - wz790/Fedora-Noble-Setup: Fedora Linux Noble Setup Guide (Post-Installation) · GitHub as it worked on my personal laptop (with secure boot disabled).

As it is a work laptop and I cant really play around too much I am now using Tuxedo OS on it, but I would prefer to go back to Fedora.

From looking it up, It seems there are some issues with kernel 7.0, but as Ubuntu 26.04 uses it as an LTS, I find that strange. I tried with Kubuntu 26.04 on this laptop and the same freeze happened.

Does anyone have any good suggestions what is going on and what I can do to remedy it? Or should I just wait for kernel 7.0 to mature a bit?

Provide the output of last boot log:

journalctl -k -b -1 --no-pager

There are no general issues with 7.0 kernel.

What nvidia drivers did you install?
We recommend the RPMfusion ones - Making sure you're not a bot!

I did install the non free from RPMfusion, both with MOK and later with secure boot disabled.

Do you still have the 6.19 kernal installed?
What if you boot into the 6.19 kernel?
