  • The Beginner’s Guide has been updated for F45 + new section on backups with Vorta

Today’s agenda:

Key Discussion Points

  • Beginner’s Guide: The guide has been updated for Fedora 45, including a rewritten backups section. The pull request is open for review until the F45 release day.
  • Security Documentation: The team decided to include the new user-focused Security docs within the existing Fedora documentation section (/en-US/fedora/latest/) rather than in Quick Docs or a separate site.
  • Component Consolidation: A major initiative was discussed to unify all documentation modules under a single Antora component name. This will allow for more flexible content arrangement but will change all page URLs. The plan is to tackle this repo by repo, using page aliases to prevent breaking existing links, and test the process on the staging environment first.
  • Staging Environment Changes: The team agreed to move the staging site’s builder repository from the stg branch of the main repo to a dedicated repository on the staging Forge instance (forge.stg.fedoraproject.org).
  • Builder Repo Branching: There is an agreement to rename the prod branch of the main builder repository to main. This will happen in conjunction with the staging environment changes.
  • Docs Captains Update: The AI/ML SIG is making progress on its documentation. A plan is in place to absorb the existing PyTorch and Ollama Quick Docs pages into the new AI/ML docs site, with work expected to be completed in October. Justin Wheeler (jflory7) will serve as the initial captain for this effort.

Action Items

  • @jflory7: Open a tracking ticket for migrating AI/ML SIG docs into a single module in preparation for the component consolidation (per issue #66).
  • @hricky: Set up a copy of the builder repository on the staging Forge and investigate how to direct its output to docs.stg.fedoraproject.org.
  • @pbokoc: Explain to the Security SIG what they need to do to include their user docs module at https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora/latest/.
  • @hricky: Proceed with renaming the prod branch to main in the builder repo.
