My workaround is to select linux 6.19.14 in the grub menu.
Please provide details of what you see when it crashes.
Last time it crashed it just stopped working, the other times it produces some weird visuals and stopped working. I had to press the power button to shut the computer down.
I would strongly recommend you not do that. It can cause disk and file corruption.
If you are experiencing crashes or freezing, try this:
Alt + SysRq (Print Screen key)
Then press, one at a time (with a few seconds between each):
R E I S U B
Release the keys and the computer will reboot.
Alternatively, to shut down completely you can do this:
Alt + SysRq (Print Screen key)
Then press the keys in this order, one at a time, waiting 1β2 seconds between each:
R E I S U O
Both methods will gracefully shut down processes, avoiding corruption or other issues.
I agree Alt + SysRq R E I S U B is a much safer way than forcing an unsafe power down. However, my recollection is that at least some of the R E I S U B operations are disabled by default in Fedora. I recall having to go in and enable them when I was having frequent hangs due to suspend. You should be able to google how to enable them.
Already enabled them, but thanks!
Can you see that last few log messages?
Try booting without quiet and rhgb on the kernel command line.
Forgot to mention that it happens in kde after a while (only in 7.0.4)
It seems to be lasting longer this time, or it is not triggering somehow.
It crashed again while trying to start firefox. The weird thing about it is that I started firefox a few times, but after some time when I start it again it it crashes the whole system.
Could be a change in the kernel is stressing your hardware.
But without details of the crash I cannot guess at what is happening.
Do you see a kernel panic on screen at the time of the crash?
Can you share a picture of the screen so we can read the panic message?
It just freezes.
FYI: I have kde plasma and the 7.0.4 kernel as well, no issues for my hardware.
I set my UEFI BIOS settings to the defaults, and it does not happen anymore!
It probably is a problem with the new kernel and my hardware, because it crashed again.
