Fedora can't do surround sound?

Whenever i plug in my USB-C to HDMI cable to my home theatre, it only outputs stereo. If I try switching to 5.1 in sound setting, audio breaks entirely.

If I use a HDMI-HDMI cable, it works fine. And If I boot into windows, the USB-C to HDMI cable supports 5.1 etc just fine so…

Why cant Fedora do surround sound over USB-C/Thunderbolt?

Which Fedora version is this?
Was this an upgrade or a fresh install?
