I stumbled across this badge on someone else’s profile:

I’m wondering what needs to get triggered to get “credit”, since I’ve had my FAS account for > 1 year?

I looked in datagrepper and didn’t see any fedmsg regarding account updates (I even tried making a few changes to see if it would nudge it into action). What is the mechanism to assign that?

Yeah, I too have noticed that that badge system seems a bit flaky. My profile, for instance, has badges for years 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 10, but the others have gone missing. Also, the sidebar shows that I created my account in 2014. But it is not yet 2024. So how can I have had the account for over 10 years? I also know that I’ve glanced at it in the past and there were considerably more badges than there are now. Maybe I offended the wrong person :stuck_out_tongue:. Oh well. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I never took the system too seriously. I also wonder whether things like “You updated your SSH key” are good to have in there. Does having such a badge just provide a means of identifying “easy marks”?

It’s supposed to be automatic, I think, but the Badges platform is a little crusty. I suggest filing a ticket in the Badges tracker or joining the #fedora-badges IRC channel to ask.

Especially:

another thing that i find is these badges are related to FAS integration (and as far as I know, It seems to be broken currently),

So it looks like people are already on it, though the fix may wait until we get the new AAA service it seems.
