ROCm 7.14 in Fedora 46
- Work has resumed on getting ROCm 7.14 into Rawhide (Fedora 46).
- Once ROCm 7.14 is stable, other AI packages like llama.cpp will be updated.
- A newer version of ROCm is anticipated and will initially be placed in a ‘preview’ COPR.
Automating Fedora Tasks with AI
- trix shared his work on using pi-coding-agent (a package available in Fedora 45) to automate tasks like package reviews and generating release notes.

Proposal to Split the AI/ML SIG
- A proposal (ticket #37) was filed to split the SIG into two focused groups: one for packaging and one for AI usage.
- There was a strong consensus against the proposal, with members preferring to maintain the current “big-tent” approach with a single, unified SIG.
- It was agreed that instead of splitting, the focus should be on improving documentation to clarify the SIG’s mission, scope, and onboarding process.
- Concerns were raised about the timing of the proposal, as it was filed just before the meeting, and members requested that future major proposals be submitted at least a day in advance.
- The EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) was briefly discussed, but it was confirmed that the ai-ml-sig FAS group holds no packaging permissions, so this is not a direct concern for the SIG’s structure.

- @jflory7: Close ticket #37 as wontfix, with the intent to keep a big-tent approach with the AI/ML SIG.
- @jflory7: Create an AI/ML SIG docs PR with revisions to the homepage to include a vision/mission for the SIG (will close ticket #27).
