I think I found a suitable analogy.
Accepting this proposal as community initiative is percieved as adding “AI” (and specifically generative/agentic AI) on the battle standard.
Question people asking themselves is “Is this a rallying point for me?”
So on the spectrum of
- Embrace
- Tolerance
- Renounce
it forces people to extremes, and the project is already reaping consequences.
