How long does it generally take after NVIDIA releases a new driver version before it shows up on rpmfusion?
I checked koji.rpmfusion.org and the latest driver available for F44 is 595.80, but 595.84 was released by NVIDIA on Jun 17.
It sometimes takes a while.
The contributors at rpmfusion must download the driver, package it, then test it for quirks and fix anything found before it can be released as a valid package for use.
I don’t know how much time the volunteers who maintain the nvidia drivers may have to do those tasks so please be patient.
Thanks - and I certainly appreciate the fact it’s only because of the volunteers we have the packages in the first place. Quite likely it’s just as you say and the package maintainer simply hasn’t had the time and that’s fine.
Previous versions have been built pretty quickly (within a couple days), so just curious if anyone was aware of some technical issue with this specific version. I realize it might take a bit longer for the package to show up in the rpmfusion repo, but as of today (6/30) the package itself hasn’t been built in koji.
