I have a tablet/PC based on an Intel Atom Z3735 or Z8300 processor. The device is limited to a 32-bit UEFI firmware, even though the CPU itself supports 64-bit operating systems.
I would like to create a triple-boot setup with Windows 10, Android, and Fedora. Before attempting the installation, I have a few questions:
- Is Fedora 44 compatible with Intel Atom Z3735/Z8300 devices?
- Does Fedora 44 support systems with a 32-bit UEFI firmware and a 64-bit CPU?
- Do I need to manually replace or modify GRUB files to make Fedora boot on a 32-bit UEFI device?
- If manual GRUB modifications are required, what is the recommended method?
- Can I perform a normal Fedora installation, or are there additional steps specific to 32-bit UEFI tablets?
- Are there any known issues with Intel Atom tablets regarding graphics, Wi-Fi, touchscreen, audio, suspend/resume, or bootloader configuration?
- Is there a recommended Fedora edition (Workstation, KDE Plasma, XFCE, etc.) for low-end Atom hardware with 2–4 GB RAM?
Any advice, guides, or experiences from users running recent Fedora releases on similar hardware would be greatly appreciated.
