Fedora 44 - no sound from an audio output unless I switch outputs

Hello,

Recently after updating to F44 I’ve started to have an issue where sometimes, but not always, sound will absolutely not play unless I change my audio output. I have three outputs - HDMI, an USB DAC and mini jack from the motherboard. It usually seems to happen on the mini jack output - I have to then briefly switch to one of the other two and then change it back.

Something I noticed also is the fact that when pausing and resuming playback for example in Firefox tabs is that it will cut off in a similar fashion. Switching outputs will fix that.

It also happens to my microphone input - unless I switch inputs back and forth, my microphone will absolutely not pick up any sound in Discord.

EDIT: Here’s another interesting one: I just left a Discord call and wanted to start playing music. But what happened is there was no output coming - the level bar isn’t reacting either. I have to switch outputs to have sound again.

I’m starting to think that it’s trying to play through Easy Effects sink for some reason - when I run pavucontrol, it shows that Easy Effects sink is indeed “playing” sounds
