Fedora 43 Xiaomi Pad 7 Compatibility

Hello world,

I’ve recently switched from Microslop Windows 11 on my laptop to Fedora 43, and I’m loving it, wish I had done this sooner…
That being said, I have bought a Xiaomi Pad 7, and I would like to install Fedora on it. I want to natively install it, not run it via VNC using termux and all that jazz.
I have done a lot of research on this topic and I’ve yet to find any concrete information that this device might be supported by the current kernel.
Anyone successfuly installed any distro, natively on a similar device without bricking it?

Easiest way to test is to try booting a live USB of say Fedora Workstation on it.
If that runs, it’s pretty much guaranteed it will work.
If it does not work, you will need to hack your way through the problem.

Yesterday someone mentioned Pocketblue, which claims compatibility with Xiaomi Pad 5 and 6, but doesn’t mention 7 yet.

You could look into that and see if support for your model is on its way.

I would be fairly sure that if the 7 is not mentioned, it will not work out of the box.
If you want to hack on it, within Fedora, the ARM SIG are the people - or you could ask in the Pocketblue chatrooms
