[Fedora 43 Workstation] Bluetooth Headphones Connection Cutting Out After A Recent Update

After a downloading recent updates from the Software Store, I noticed that the Bluetooth connection quality with my wireless headphones has gotten worse.

Sometimes the Bluetooth sound seems to randomly cut off like there’s a terrible connection quality. Sometimes there are points where there’s no sound at all except for 1-2 second bursts of audio.

This isn’t just a playback issue. When I’m in online meetings, I’m told that my voice keeps getting cut off even though I can clearly hear them without interruptions. So both the audio and mic of my Bluetooth are having connectivity issues independently.

I did notice how the connection cutting out seems to get worse if I play a graphically demanding video game. However, I did catch the connection going out while watching videos too.

I’ve tested my headset and it works fine on my Android phone. The headset also worked well until a few days ago when i applied a whole bunch of updates at once so I’m assuming this is due to that.

If you guys have any idea why this is suddenly happening, please let me know.

This sounds like my issue. Bluetooth stutters since update, reproducible after dnf update

That’s exactly what I’m experiencing. I guess the only fix is to hope one of the updates fixes it I guess….
