Fedora 43 plasma, really low dropbox upload

Hey there

I have the problem, that my dropbox upload speed is really really slow, some kb only. i did not restrict or limit the upload speed and a speed test shows some mb’s to be possible. randomly with or without vpn etc. there is the same problem.

i try to upload much small files at the moment, some 10-100k files “at once”. could this be the problem? anyone an idea how to push my dropbox upload speed go my normal internet speed?

kind regards

I suspect the issue is related to Dropbox’s CDN (content distribution network). Different CDN have different global reach.

A cursory search says that Cloudflare is CDN used.

It could also be that Dropbox throttles free plans.

ok. so i don’t have a free plan. but yes. could changes ip location make a difference? i dont think so.

Different ISPs have different Border Gateway Protocols BGPs - they have different roads through the internet - so changing ISPs could effect speed.

i changed my location different times. nothing. but ok. perhaps there are other reasons too. or just the cdn.
would i need to restart the drobox system after disabling vpn?

If the VPN is disabled, then all systems should switch back to the ISP defined routing.

You could test the CDN theory by trying to download a large file via cloudflare

ok ill try this
