Fedora 43 - Installer and muvm ignore selected locale + keyboard mapping

Hi!
when I want to install Fedora 43 KDE, the installers asks me to select my locale and keyboard mapping. After I select german keyboard mapping, the test input field does not work correctly and ignores the selected mapping - It still uses the default english mapping, but not the selected one - so I can’t input any umlauts for example.

It also does not work correctly in later screens, where you are supposed to input your username, password and names. If these are supposed to contain umlauts, you are out of luck. I would expect that the installer test input fields should work correctly :slight_smile:

After completed installation you have to select the correct keyboard mapping again, and only then it actually works!

Even after this, when you run muvm, it still runs with english locale and keyboard mapping, no umlauts work inside the muvm - it should automatically install and use the locale and mapping the host system uses.

Alternatively you should add a documentation how to sync locale and mapping to the muvm.

Every time you load steam or a game, you get these messages:

XOpenIM() failed, LANG = de_DE.utf8
XOpenIM() failed, LANG = de_DE.utf8pcilib: Cannot open /proc/bus/pci
