I have a few Java apps I have written over the last few years and as of the May 28, 2025 Fedora update they no longer function as they did. Everything was fine on Fedora 40, 41 and 42 up to the May 28, 2025 update. I have even did a clean install of Fedora 42 from a boot-able USB drive yesterday and everything was fine until the updates installed. I am using JDK21 and NetBeans 26. Issue: When I try to open a file or save to a file the app locks up, I can’t do anything and have to kill it. For example, one of my Java apps solves Sudoku puzzles, I read the puzzle from a csv file and the app also writes to csv files. I can give you the NetBeans project including source code in a zip file if you would like to inspect. I duel boot Fedora 42 and Windows 10 on my old laptop and Windows 11 on my new laptop and run JDK21 on Windows and everything works fine under Windows. I also have a Dell Inspiron 3020 Desktop that dual boots Windows 11 and Fedora 42. I have this issue on all 3 machines running Fedora 42 after the May 28, 2025 update. I’m curious if anyone else has this issue.
This issue has been fixed in the June 2, 2025 Fedora 42 update. Thanks, whoever was involved in the fix.
