Latest 41 kernel not detecting WWAN card. Default Install kernel working though. How do I fix?

Which one is the “updated kernel” and which one is the “default kernel” you are referring to?
Did you go through the log files to find more specific information on the issue?
You have to install acpi_call and some lenovo fix. The issue is I can’t get acpi_call to load because it’s unsigned.

This is how you fix it, I just can’t figure out how to get acpi_call to work.
