Fedora 41 KDE Spin taskwarrior 3

Hello,

I was happy to read, that fedora 41 is moving to taskwarrior 3. Today I upgraded to 41 KDE spin, before removed the taskwarrior package with dnf. dnf shows me task and task2 (old 2.x version) available. But when I install the task package the installed version is still 2.6.2 release 7.fc41. I also cleaned my dnf cache. I checked my repos, everythings seems to be alright showing fedora 41 repos.
Is this a kde spin issue, so the packages aren’t as up to date as the main 41 version?
I would appreciate any advices, tips for further reading! Thx a lot!

Welcome to Fedora @caleb21

It looks like that task is the newer version. Both versions are still on 2.x

I am on Gnome and got the same thing. So it is Fedora in general and not a KDE Spin issue.

ps
I installed task but it pushed task2. I am still on F40. Strange?!

I don’t think it’s a KDE specific issue. Same here on F41 Workstation:

$ dnf list task task2
Updating and loading repositories:
Repositories loaded.
Available packages
task.aarch64  2.6.2-7.fc41 fedora
task2.aarch64 2.6.2-2.fc41 fedora

If around, @ankursinha could tell when version 3 will make it into the repos.

We’re still updating to taskwarrior 3, unfortunately. They re-wrote it in rust and we had to package a bunch of deps first. It’ll hopefully get to F41 in the next couple of weeks.
