Hello, I’m currently experiencing a bunch of annoying crashes on Fedora 41. This occurs quite often, about 3-5x a day, and normally random but most of the them due to video playback on Firefox. Firefox also crashed a bunch of times, sometimes its just the tab that crashed, sometimes whole firefox crash, sometimes it lags the whole system, prompting me to force shutdown (except once where gnome shell quit before I force shutdown). When it crash during video playback, peripherals are unresponsive and the video (or whole screen) is frozen, and about 10-20% of the time the last 2-3 second of the audio from the video will replay repeatedly.
Additionally, I don’t think this could be related, but Windows 11 (the main reason why I switched to linux) also crashed BSOD multiple times, sometimes being video playback and sometimes being just random crashes while idling. It often crashes with event id 41, kernel power, watchdog violation, system kernel check failure, kernel mode heap corruption. All of these issues seems to take place after bios update 327, but two crashes with the same bsod took place before the bios update, however did not help.
Here’s my system information:
Fedora Linux 41 Workstation Edition x86_64 on Wayland
ROG Zephyrus G16 GU605MV_GU605MV
Linux 6.12.15-200.fc41.x86_64
Intel(R) Core™ Ultra 9 185H (22) @ 5.10 GHz
Intel Arc Graphics @ 2.35 GHz [Integrated]
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Max-Q / Mobile [Discrete]
32GB RAM, 8GiB Swap
All drivers are updated as well as Fedora (also including asusctl and supergfxctl for asus devices, no custom kernel), I’ve already reinstalled once but doesn’t help. (If you’ve noticed I didn’t include any error log, that’s because there’s a lot error log and I don’t know which one to include that might help, but please do ask me for the logs)
Really need help here guys, I can’t study with it crashing and being so inconsistent. TIA!
