Fedora 35 crashes sometimes immediately after logging into the desktop, or hours later

My Fedora 35 Cinnamon will sometimes immediately crash upon logging into the desktop. It also sometimes could be hours or even a day or two before it crashes, but once it starts crashing it usually repeatedly does so every boot until I just give up trying. I dual boot with Windows 10 currently, and Windows has no issue that I can see when the crashes start happening.

My OS drive is a 1TB Samsung 870 EVO with a 250gb partition for Fedora. All SMART tests that I’ve ran over the last several days have come back that the drive is not failing.

I mention the SSD I’m using and SMART results because in the first boot log I’m seeing errors like this, but the drive is good so I don’t know:

Dec 25 13:20:29 typo kernel: blk_update_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 1443833952 op 0x0:(READ) flags 0x80700 phys_seg 17 prio class 0

This is the uninformative screen that appears (and doesn’t change) once the crash happens:

Once on the above screen, sometimes I can hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and get the system trying to shutdown:

[FAILED] Failed unmounting /boot/efi.
[FAILED] Failed unmounting RPC Pipe File System.
[FAILED] Failed to start Show Plymouth Reboot Screen.
[FAILED] Failed unmounting /boot.
[FAILED] Failed unmounting /home.
[FAILED] Failed unmounting Temporary Directory /tmp.
[FAILED] Failed deactivating swap Compressed Swap on /dev/zram0.
[ 122.017978] watchdog: watchdog0: watchdog did not stop!
[!!!!!!] Failed to execute shutdown binary.

I have a fpaste --sysinfo --printonly output below and 2 boot logs from the crashes. Since both logs are too long to include in the post, I’ve pasted them elsewhere:

From Dec 25:
https://pastebin.com/raw/DafiC3WM

From Dec 23:
https://pastebin.com/raw/BfqY4BNV

I’ll provide different logs if needed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This issue has been driving me insane.

First I though it’s happen after suspend, that’s why asked 2 information above. But when I read your paste bin here, may be it’s hardware issue. Not always because your ssd damaged, but maybe just because the cable connected to it.

I try to find on internet and found some one could give a good explanation on here. Please read the question and the answer marked as solution on there.

the mate-desktop-environment and cinnamon (as I tried) crash on fedora 35 (the mate desktop, at least, due to some python dependency issues. Try (before it crashes) installing another desktop environment and testing if it works.
