In Ubuntu I can install the NVIDIA Control Panel and select Auto, NVIDIA or Intel GPU, I enabled the Intel GPU and with that I ensure the NVIDIA GPU is off and not using any power. With Fedora I haven’t been able to find a way to do the same, while using Fedora 34 I have no use for the NVIDIA GPU and I want it disable, if you have done this with your laptop, please could you provide the steps, thanks
Fedora, by default uses the open sourced nouveau driver for the nvidia GPU. It also uses the IGP unless specifically directed to use the discrete nvidia GPU.
AFAIK there is no way to turn off the power for the nvidia card since it is physically attached to the system. However, it is not used by default for most applications and sits idle with minimal power usage.
