Fedora 34 desktop screen dim after waking up

Using Fedora with the Mate Desktop.

The screen saver is set to kick in after 5 mins of no use
The screen is set to turn off after 30 mins of no use

The screen slowly fades to black, then starts playing images from my picture folder.

When I restore the screen, the brightness is at 75% … guessing.
It’s not 100%.

I can reboot and restore the brightness to 100 percent.

I’ve checked power management, but there is nothing to indicate what the brightness is set to.
I’ve checked the screen saver settings, but don’t see a setting for screen brightness

Hi @enetarch welcome back. Do you use NVIDIA?

@computersavvy, Thanks for the DNF command.
I’ve installed the files, now to see if they work. =)

After installing akmod-nvidia my system began experiencing the dreaded Snow White Complex, and not even the Kiss could wake it up. I uninstalled the driver, and the Snow White Complex remained. =(

So, I’m going to tell the system to never go to sleep, and just shut down the monitor manually to see if Snow White persists to be a problem.

Did you also do what is recommended here?

Since you used an oblique reference I can only guess that you are referring to problems with waking from suspend, and that link leads to solutions that work for many.

In the future please tell us the actual problem and don’t leave us guessing.
