Hi,guys and girls…(:
maybe it’s ignorant me, but i tried to install the fedora workstation twice from diffrent usb sticks after downloading from the main site,
and it seems to be broken, also tried a third time from a different repo and same thing happens.
Probably should be fixed fast to not waste a lot of people’s time…
31 works and updates nicely to 32 from terminal but takes ages, also I’ve noticed apps are starting a little slow after update but that cold be related to space on my computer etc…
Take care.
Nimri.
Heeeeey! Welcome to the Fedora Community. You know what, my friend? You sound like a perfect candidate for Fedora’s Quality Assurance team. You should consider it. What do they do? They report issues … just like you did now. Seriously – QA/Join - Fedora Project Wiki
It would be interesting to get details of these anomalies so that the community can resolve them
IMHO, the best iso to install Fedora is the netinstall image. It downloads the packages that are required to match your software ( and Desktop Environment) selection during install and you end up with an up-to-date system. No 2.2G download right after the fresh install of Fedora required (and the ISO itsself is also much smaller).

)
it is weird that the netinstall image is marketed as “Server edition”. To clarify, by default, the netinstall image allows you to select and install any edition, server or workstation (with any Desktop), or -…
I also prefer netinstall when possible, but let’s be honest, it requires a stable and direct internet connection, so it cannot be considered the best option.
While using netinstall behind a content-filtering proxy is not impossible, trust me, it is a real pain.
The same goes for unstable connections with high latency or permanent packet loss.
In these and similar cases utilizing torrents may be the only viable option.
Agreed. However, the netinstall route needs documentation that explains how to achieve the ends. Live images are handy for on-the-fly Linux experience or for troubleshooting offline machines nonetheless.
Agreed, it requires a stable internet connection, however, downloading the Live media iso (and subsequent package updates) does too. Running Fedora and keeping it up-to-date in general is more fun with stable internet connection…
The install guide exists: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora/rawhide/install-guide/install/Installing_Using_Anaconda/#sect-installation-graphical-mode (screenshots are made from a Server netinstall)
Netinstall is using Anaconda as well, so the install is almost the same as from a Live Media. Only difference is the selection of software group(s) to be installed:
BTW, my friends, the point is that the Live ISO is there since the official release (end of April), and was used by thousands of people. The ISO itself could not be broken.
The downloaded one could be broken (network issues? incomplete download?), but we can’t do much. @nimri you should verify the downloaded ISO as suggested by @vgaetera before burning it to an USB stick. And once booted, you should select “Test this media & start Fedora-Workstation-Live 32”
And could you be more precise? It doesn’t boot at all? It boots but an error arise?
As mentioned above, the OP can work around the issues related to unstable network as well as repair incomplete downloads with BitTorrent:

I just recently joined and I love it!
Thanks,I will do it if I will find the time, I’m mostly overloaded…(: I love linux being using it for years, but somtimes the bugs are annoying…haha…(:
Hi to every body who answered, First a big apology to you people and the fedora team, it wasn’t broken I was the ignorant and the problem was with my hardware, basically 2 weeks ago my graphics card heated up and stoped working so I took it out thinking it’s burnet, and I used the on board one, it was working fine with fedora 30, it seems that the installation program and the genome desktop are not working well with this low tech, Cinnamon desktop on 32 worked ok bit froze sometimes I tried to install gnome desktop from terminal after installing cinnamon and when trying to logout and switch to gnome it happen again, after 2-3 days of trying to understand this for 10+ hours a day I found out it works with a lower graphic choice in the installation menu, so I tried to put the graphics card back and it worked!!(:
I shouldn’t have written Broken!! like this maybe just --maybe broken?? but I was cranky from so many hours of getting stuck with it…(:
I’m a bit old school and I use an old computer so I should expect problems, but actually the system works great, I’m very happy about it,
I discovered Linux about 15 years ago worked mostly with open SUSE,
I didn’t use it for some years and last year I came back to do a special project on it and found fedora more suitable for what I need,
I was impressed on who fast people answered I used forums maybe 4 times in my life, I think you people are cool and thank you very much. Cheers! Nimri
No problem! Glad you found Fedora. Hardware issues can be very hard to troubleshoot. I am glad that you figured it out and if you have any other questions, please feel free to ask! Welcome to the community!
